Be Still and Know That I Am God

When God delivered the Israelites in Judges 7 and 8 He chose Gideon to work through. Gideon was not a great leader, or warrior, or from an important family. God chose Gideon for His glory. Then when Gideon had an army ready to go fight, God told him to take fewer men. He reduced the army from 32,000 to 300 so that Israel would know it was God who delivered them, not themselves. God will be exalted.
