Elijah prayed and fire fell down from God and consumed the offering, and the wood, and the stone, dust and water. Then he took all the priests of Baal and killed them. Then he prayed earnestly for rain, and after three and half years of drought it rained. Then Jezabel threatened to kill him, he went out into the wilderness, and prayed to God that he might die. Elijah was a man God, who God used to do many incredible works. He was still tired. He was still depressed. He still wanted to die. “Elias [Elijah] was a man subject to like passions as we are…” (James 5:17). You can be obedient to God, doing right, and still be depressed. Depression isn’t necessarily because sin, or lack of faith. Sometimes things are hard, and people are tired. Have mercy on each other.
