The Truth About Deception
The essence of a lie is deception. Jesus says, “I am the way the truth and the life” (John 14:6 KJV), the Holy Ghost is “the Spirit of truth.” (John 15:26 KJV). When God returns, rolls up this world, and makes a new city for His people to live in forever, “there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.” (Revelation 21:27 KJV). There are no “white lies”, no small lies, with God. He calls us to worship him in spirit and in truth (John 4:23 KJV). To worship Him in truth we must honor, proclaim, and practice the truth.
